High refresh rate screens first appeared on smartphones in 2017 when the first Razer Phone hit the market. Back then, Razer offered a 120 Hz IGZO LCD panel for a much smoother experience when swiping through menus or in supported games.
Fast forward to 2021 and it seems like almost every flagship smartphone (and even many mid-range smartphones) have high refresh rate displays. It’s not uncommon for phones to come with 90Hz, 120Hz, and even 144Hz screens. But does your current phone have a high refresh rate? We ask that in our featured poll today, so let us know by voting below.
The most famous phones with a high refresh rate include the Samsung Galaxy S20 and S21 series, Redmi Note 10 Pro, Galaxy A52 series, and OnePlus 9 series. There are still a few high-end phones that stick to the standard 60Hz refresh rate, such as Apple’s iPhones, but even the Cupertino-based company is expected to be introducing high refresh rate panels soon.
To clarify, we ask you for the maximum supported refresh rate on your phone and not the refresh rate you have chosen. So if your phone hits 120Hz but you keep it at 60Hz then go for 120Hz. Still, feel free to leave a comment below if you’d like to further elaborate on your choice.
