Android is the world’s most popular smartphone platform and trumps Apple’s iOS in the majority of smartphones. It’s easy to see why it does too, as it’s free, customizable, used by a ton of OEMs, and has modest system requirements.
Google’s mobile platform has been around for over a decade, but what would have to happen to get you out of it? That is the topic of our poll launched today, so please vote on the poll below.
We can think of a number of reasons why some consumers would leave Android. Blocking Google’s mobile platform like iOS would be a huge downer and would essentially deprive Android of one of its greatest strengths (i.e. customization and sideloading).
Another possible reason for some people to leave Android would be when it lacks innovation from Google and OEMs. Speaking of OEMs, we could see some people leaving the Google platform when several big brands (e.g. Samsung, Xiaomi) drop Android for other platforms.
You can use the poll above to make your voice heard, but you can also select “Other” and leave a comment if you have any other reason to leave Android.
