Two new foldable Samsung phones are on the market today. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 refines the strengths of its predecessor and brings even more features to the party. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 condenses the foldable formula into a more accessible package. Both phones are pretty appealing on paper, but if you had to buy one, which one would you choose?
There are several reasons to choose the Galaxy Z Fold 3. It offers nifty S Pen support on a foldable Samsung for the first time. There is also a new under-display camera and a more durable shell with water resistance. If you’re looking for a device with a big screen, this is the phone. Even so, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 may still be too big for some. And at $ 1,799, it remains a massive investment for a smartphone.
The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is far more appealing of the two for those on a slimmer budget. It starts at $ 999 and fixes many of its predecessor’s problems. It includes a more resilient shell, a more durable internal display, and a more useful external display. The Z Flip 3 can also be folded into a smaller package. But is this design the best use of foldable technology? And is the Galaxy Z Flip 3 really worth the $ 999 spent on a traditional, rigid flagship?
