Poll: Is the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold hot or not?
Foldable phones go nowhere. This week Xiaomi finally unveiled the latest addition to its Mi Mix line and its first commercially available foldable phone. The Mi Mix Fold is currently only available in China, but will hopefully not be the only foldable Xiaomi for 2021.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold offers a design that is reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2. It carries an 8-inch display inside and a 6.52-inch panel outside with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. Internals consist of the Snapdragon 888 SoC, 5,020 mAh of juice from two batteries, Xiaomi’s homemade Surge C1 imaging Processor as well as up to 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage.
The imaging arsenal includes a 108-megapixel rear-view camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, and an 8-megapixel camera with a liquid lens. The latter allows you to record macros and up to 3x telephoto snapshots.
That’s a pretty impressive load factor for a foldable model, but the Mi Mix Fold arguably isn’t as ambitious as previous Mi Mix models. What’s even stranger is that it’s still running on Android 10. While Xiaomi told us the leaflet won’t be available outside of China, it would likely cost a pretty penny if it were ever released worldwide.
Given the advantages and disadvantages listed, what do you think of the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold? Is it hot or not? Make sure you vote on our poll above. If your feelings are more nuanced, leave a comment below.
