Pearl Jam stream new album in Dolby Atmos for free, some exceptions apply
Pearl Jam stream their latest album Gigaton in Dolby Atmos Format free for the next week, exclusively for Apple TV and Apple users iOS Equipment.
If you are a Pearl Jam fan, the full length album is available on Apple TV 4K or compatible iPhones, iPads or MacBooks. While you need an Atmos-compatible receiver and speakers to hear it in full Atmos, you don’t need a 4K TV to work. When you do this, the graphics are in Dolby Vision.
Apple TV and iOS users can use this link to listen to Pearl Jam’s Gigaton in Dolby Atmos.
Mobile users can only hear the recording in simulated Atmos mode via the Apple TV app. However, it is available on iTunes in AAC format for $ 10.99.
The band released their 11th album Gigaton on March 27, the first album in seven years.
I listened to the recording on my Dolby Atmos home system and it’s a pretty subtle Atmos treatment. The album’s ambient start is the most atmospheric, which led to the stubborn Who Ever Said in which my 7-year-old danced.
Surround sound music caused a sensation in 2019 with the release of Sony 360 reality audio, Atmos music and the Amazon Echo Studio. It remains to be seen whether Atmos surround music can gain a foothold, especially given the fact that earlier formats such as quad and DVD-Audio were unsuccessful.
