TL; DR

  • NBCUniversal’s Peacock service will be available on Fire TV devices and Fire tablets.
  • Starting June 24th, you will be able to stream free and paid tiers on your Amazon devices.
  • You have access to live programming and on-demand shows like The office.

Peacock finally hit Amazon devices about a year after its debut. NBCUniversal is making Peacock available on Fire TV hardware and Fire tablets on June 24th.

As with other platforms, Peacock on Fire devices give you the option to watch a limited selection of TV shows and movies for free or the entire catalog through a premium subscription of $ 4.99. Pay $ 9.99 per month and Premium Plus will remove ads from most content, outside of Peacock channels, and a handful of on-demand videos.

Connected: The best video streaming services

The Peacock app runs on the full line of Fire TV devices, including budget hardware like the Fire TV Stick Lite and Amazon-powered smart TVs. NBCU didn’t describe Fire tablet compatibility, but you can use Alexa to control the service.

The appeal remains the same for Peacock on Fire TV as elsewhere. You have access to catalog material like The office and Harry Potter as well as current shows, including originals like Girl5eva and Where’s Waldo. It is effectively a challenger to services like HBO Max and Hulu, only with lower cost options that could save you significant expenses if you are willing to put up with advertising.
