Parks and Recreation is getting a one-off reunion episode next week
In some of the best news since Friends goodbye special was announced is Parks and Recreation Come back for a unique script reunion special. It airs on NBC on April 30 at 8:30 p.m. ET / PT, refills our screens with the warm and blurry world of Pawnee, Indiana.
“Like many other people, we looked for ways to help and felt that bringing these characters back in for one night could make some money,” said show co-creator Michael Schur. The half-hour special helps raise funds for Feeding America’s COVID-19 Response Fund.
“I sent a hopeful email to the cast and they all got in touch within 45 minutes. Our old ‘Parks and Rec’ team put together another 30-minute piece (quarantined) of Pawnee life, and we hope everyone likes it and donate! “
As a result, Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) will do her utmost to “stay connected with friends in a time of social distance,” said NBC.
We can expect almost all of the incredible performers to be present, including Poehler, Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott, Rob Lowe, Jim O’Heir and Retta. And don’t be surprised if “several guest stars from the Pawnee universe appear” (fingers crossed to refer to Li’l Sebastian).
Poehler dropped the special bomb in a teaser on Twitter, including the fact that the “brand new story” is being shot out of the actors’ homes (they’ll probably be in character).
Parks and Recreation ended after seven seasons in 2015. In March last year, the performers and movers spoke on a podium for a reunion for the 10th anniversary at the PaleyFest. Hint A reunion episode may not be planned, but Schur said, “I would never never never say never.”
