OnePlus has been targeted by users of the OnePlus 7 and 7T series. The stable Android 11 update on the phones left a lot to be desired and actually had several issues, so users wanted to resort to Android 10. Now, a recently released Oxygen OS 11 software poll has further angered OnePlus 7 / 7T users.
The survey aims to ask users of the OnePlus flagships from 2019 about their experience of using the stable Oxygen OS 11 build. The original release asked what users thought of the Always On Display (AOD) feature of the OnePlus 7 / 7T series. However, the company forgot that the feature is not yet available on the phones, despite users complaining about it for months.

Always On Display (AOD) is one of the most prominent missing features of the stable Android 11 update for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T series. While AOD was available in the open beta builds for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T phones, it never made it into the stable Oxygen OS 11 version that was released in March. So when users asked about their experience with the feature only made them very angry and started a lengthy thread in the OnePlus forum about the failures of Android 11 on the phones.

While OnePlus may have made a real mistake in adding the AOD question to its survey (it has now been removed), the bigger opinion we got from the comments is a growing lack of trust in the company.
Not only are users upset that OnePlus is asking for a feature it doesn’t offer on its phones. Many of them have raised concerns that OnePlus updates will be delayed, full of bugs, and ruining the original, stock-like Oxygen OS experience.
Meanwhile, almost three months after OnePlus rolled out the stable Android 11 build for the OnePlus 7 and 7T series, users are still facing issues like battery drain, overheating, audio errors, and more. OnePlus released an update for the OnePlus 7 and 7T series in May with multiple fixes, but many previously reported issues seem to still persist.
As for AOD on the OnePlus 7 / 7T, ideally the company should roll out the feature in a future stable release as it is currently being tested. However, there is no timeframe for when that will happen.
