  • A new leak suggests that Oppo’s foldable phone debuted in the second quarter.
  • This means we can see the device until the end of June.

Thanks to devices like the Galaxy Z Flip and the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Samsung has dominated the foldable phone landscape so far. We also saw a new foldable phone from Huawei, and it looks like Oppo might be joining the party soon too.

According to the frequent Tipp digital chat station on Weibo, Oppo is expected to launch its first foldable phone in the second quarter. This means we can see it as early as next month or through the end of June if the company sticks to a starting window for the second quarter.

This isn’t the first time Oppo has launched a foldable phone as display analyst Ross Young in 2021 previously claimed that Oppo (together with Google, Vivo and Xiaomi) would be launching leaflets this year. However, the recent leak suggests that the foldable Oppo is closer to launch than expected.

The news also makes us wonder what this means for the company’s rollable phone project. The Oppo X 2021 rollable phone was revealed late last year, but the company announced it Android Authority At the time there was no “short term” commercial release plan. However, it looks like the company recently let some YouTubers spend some time on the gadget, suggesting that it is almost ready for a commercial launch too.

In other words, we wouldn’t be surprised if Oppo were to launch both the foldable and rollable phones within a few months.
