OnePlus TV 40Y1 launches with Android 9, Full HD display for Rs 21,999
The affordable OnePlus Y-series TVs have grown by one. The company today launched the OnePlus TV 40Y1 in India. The new television complements the company’s existing 32-inch and 43-inch devices in the series.
Just like its siblings, the new OnePlus TV 40Y1 runs on the Android TV platform with Android 9 under the hood. It’s not the latest software as many larger Android TVs from other brands like Xiaomi have now switched to Android 10. More premium televisions are also switching to Android 11.Nevertheless, you get access to the Google Play Store, the OnePlus TV, the ability to load apps from the side, and the built-in Chromecast functions, so you don’t have any compared to newer versions of the operating system should notice a big difference in terms of functionality.
Meanwhile, the new OnePlus TV 40Y1 offers the standard Android TV user interface, as well as the option to use OnePlus’ OxygenPlay user interface for personalized content recommendations.
You also get a Google Assistant button on the remote control of the OnePlus TV 40Y1. This allows you to use your voice to find content and control the TV.

The new 40-inch OnePlus TV has trim panels and a full HD display (1,920 x 1,080) with a screen-to-body ratio of 93%. Like the existing Y-series sets, the latest model also supports the 93% DCI-P3 color gamut for vibrancy and color accuracy.
20W stereo speakers manage the sound on the TV with Dolby Atmos enhancement.
For connectivity, you get Bluetooth 5, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, two HDMI ports, two USB ports, an Ethernet port, an antenna port and an optical audio port.
As with all OnePlus televisions, you can control the new OnePlus TV 40Y1 with the OnePlus Connect app. With the app, you can enter searches with your phone, control the volume on your TV, switch between multiple apps and much more.

The OnePlus TV 40Y1 costs Rs 21,999 (~ $ 301). It will be available on Flipkart soon.
