OnePlus teases debut for mysterious “OnePlus World”

OnePlus could precede the 8T launch with the debut of something … else. The company has teased (about GizmoChina) the premiere of a OnePlus world on October 1st with indications that it may be a virtual room.
The teaser doesn’t include a lot of details, but the picture suggests that OnePlus is launching a virtual reality-like environment with avatars. It could be a community hub or a product presentation – assuming it’s nothing else entirely. We wouldn’t expect to need a VR headset if it was in a digital environment. The acceptance of VR technology is still so low that relatively few fans would have the necessary hardware.
At least in virtual worlds, OnePlus is no stranger. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Nord was started using an augmented reality app. An online area would also be helpful if customers don’t always enjoy visiting OnePlus’ physical locations.
Timing is also hard to ignore. OnePlus World comes out just two weeks before the 8T launches and may offer a chance to discuss or showcase the new phone. Whatever the world, it’s clear that OnePlus will be pretty busy this fall – new hardware is just part of a bigger picture.
