In 2020, OnePlus plunged into the affordable phone market with the Nord N10 and N100. It was atypical for OnePlus to make inexpensive phones, but the company did it anyway, and its bet reportedly paid off. Now OnePlus seems to be preparing a successor for at least one of these budget-friendly Nord phones.
Frequent tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer, also known as OnLeaks, has leaked renderings and some specs of an alleged follow-up phone for the OnePlus Nord N10. The device apparently bears the code name “Ebba” and looks very similar to its predecessor.
Hemmerstoffer shows that the size and weight of Ebba have been reduced slightly, but the overall dimensions are roughly the same as those of the Nord N10. The casing of the phone is said to be constructed around a metal frame and a shiny plastic back panel.
Ebba leaked specs include a 6.49-inch flat panel display with a single hole in the top left corner. The screen has thin bezels on three sides and a slightly thicker chin, just like the N10.
Elsewhere, the new phone appears to change the position of the fingerprint sensor from back to side. Hemmerstoffer claims that the sensor is embedded in the power switch.
Fortunately, the phone still seems to keep the 3.5mm headphone jack.
There’s no word on the processor, cameras, battery life, or price. However, we hope that the phone will receive a much-needed performance boost. We had some serious reservations about the Nord N10 in our review, and updating each system was one of our main concerns. We want OnePlus to address some of these issues this time around.
