OnePlus Nord N10 and N100: Detailed announcement

OnePlus Nord N10 and N100

  • OnePlus today announced two new budget smartphones: the OnePlus Nord N10 and the Nord N100.
  • The phones mark the return of the headphone jack and the brand’s first phones with a microSD card slot.
  • The new Nords will be launched in Europe and the UK first, but both will eventually land in North America.

OnePlus just pulled off another pair of 2020 smartphones. The phones are budget entries in the brand new Nord series, ending up as the N10 and N100. The former sits right below the OnePlus Nord in specs and value, while the latter is the lowest the company has ever hit in specs / value.

The N10 starts at £ 329 / € 329 (~ $ 429) while the N100 costs £ 179 / € 179 (~ $ 233). Both will be available in the UK and Europe. Ultimately, they will land in North America, although OnePlus has not yet released any specific information on the release dates.

OnePlus’ lineup just got really confusing

Of the two new devices, the OnePlus Nord N100 makes the most sense. It touches a segment of budget buyers who previously avoided OnePlus simply because it didn’t offer them anything. With the N100, you can try Oxygen OS for an incredibly affordable price (even if it’s based on Android 10).

However, the N10 is a lot lower than the OnePlus Nord, but costs just £ 50 less. If someone thinks of the Nord N10, they might as well put in extra cash and get a phone that is better by just about any metric. The main north also has the signature OnePlus alarm regulator, which both the N10 and N100 apparently lack. OnePlus would not confirm or reject for us if the alarm regulator is a function of one of the two phones.

When the phones land in the US, however, it will be a little different. Since the OnePlus Nord was not introduced here, the Nord N10 in particular will fill an empty niche in the market.

This version marks by far the majority of phones OnePlus has launched in a year. It will be very interesting to see how the company is handling the transition from a pure flagship brand to a more comprehensive company.
