OnePlus Nord 2 specs leak in full

OnePlus Nord back side hero shot lit

OnePlus has been doing a lot of Northern news lately, with revelations of the Nord CE as well as the ultra-budget Nord N200. However, the fans have to real Revealing the true successor to last year’s well-received OnePlus Nord.

Well, we don’t have an official reveal for you just yet, but we have something you’ll love: a leaked list of OnePlus Nord 2 specs. The source of the leak is the reliable scene tester Steve Hemmerstoffer (via 91 Cell Phones), so these specifications are very likely to be exact, or at least very close.

The big highlight of the alleged data sheet is the presence of a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. If this works, it would be the first OnePlus phone without a Qualcomm chipset. Not only would that be a dramatic shift for OnePlus, but it would also be a huge boon for MediaTek, which is lagging behind Qualcomm in the industry.

OnePlus Nord 2 specifications

Outside of the Dimensity 1200 chipset, the specifications for the Nord 2 look pretty straightforward.

The leak suggests that the Nord 2 could come with a 6.43-inch FHD + AMOLED display, complete with an in-display fingerprint reader. The display would have a refresh rate of 90 Hz. This isn’t all that different from the original Nord, which had a 6.44-inch display with similar specifications.

On the back, the Nord 2 may only have three lenses as opposed to the Nord’s four. The lenses could be a 50 MP main lens that with an 8 MP ultra wide angle and another 2 MP sensor of some sort (depth maybe?) The single selfie camera could be a 32 MP lens . This means that the dual selfie camera of the original Nord doesn’t make the cut with the successor.

The phone’s power supply could be a 4,500 mAh cell, a nice upgrade from the 4,115 mAh cell in the original Nord. Hemmerstoffer doesn’t mention it, but you can expect at least 30W wired charging with the Nord 2.

Finally, the OnePlus Nord 2’s leaked specs suggest that there might be two variants of storage: 8 GB / 128 GB and 12 GB / 256 GB. It is very unlikely that either model will have expandable storage.

It will likely be another month before this phone hits the market. In the meantime, what do you think of what we know so far?
