  • OnePlus has revealed the display details of the Nord 2.
  • It offers much of the same display as the original Nord.

OnePlus finally confirmed the existence of the Nord 2 5G last week and also revealed that the device is powered by an optimized version of the Dimensity 1200 processor. The Chinese manufacturer has now revealed display details that look very familiar.

OnePlus went to twitter to reveal that the Nord 2 will be equipped with a 6.43-inch 90 Hz AMOLED panel with HDR10 + certification. See a screenshot of the tweet below.

That means the Nord 2 has essentially the same screen as the original Nord, which came with a 6.44-inch 90 Hz OLED panel and HDR10 + support. The original Nord offered an FHD + resolution, so we suspect that the successor is also equipped with a similar screen resolution.

The original Nord was ahead of its time in this regard, combining high refresh rates and OLED panels at a time when both technologies were rarely found on the same screen. But people like Samsung and Xiaomi have caught up in recent months by launching mid-range phones with high refresh rate OLED screens, like the Galaxy A52 series and the Redmi Note 10 Pro.

That said, a 90Hz OLED panel is still pretty solid for a mid-range phone in 2021. However, we hope that OnePlus will upgrade the Nord 2 in other areas, such as the camera experience, battery life, and charging speed. Are you satisfied with the Nord 2’s screen selection?
