OnePlus Buds Z specs leak, will likely be IP55-certified
- According to leaker Ishan Agarwal, OnePlus will present two new Bluetooth headphones on October 14.
- The OnePlus Buds Z has IP55 water and dust resistance, as well as support for fast charging.
Less than a week before OnePlus unveils the OnePlus 8T on October 14th, Leaker Ishan Agarwal (via 91mobile) has released new details about the OnePlus Buds Z and OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z Bass Edition, two Bluetooth headphones that the company will announce on the same day.
OnePlus will likely position the Buds Z as a cheaper variant of its existing OnePlus Buds. The new true wireless headphones have 10mm drivers and a battery life of up to 20 hours. For comparison, the OnePlus Buds come with 13.4mm drivers, and OnePlus claims that you can get up to 30 hours of battery life with the included charging case.
connected: Best bluetooth headphones
We know from a recent tweet from OnePlus that the Buds Z will weigh in 4.35 grams and IP55 water and dust resistance. They’ll also feature more or less the same design as the OnePlus Buds – the design that US Customs says is against brands associated with Apple’s AirPods.
As you might have guessed from the name, the Bullets Wireless Z Bass Edition has a sound profile that emphasizes the low-end response. The battery life is said to be worse than the Bullets Wireless Z, with a single charge expected to achieve 17 instead of 20 hours of playback. Otherwise, the two Bluetooth headphones should be almost identical. Like the current Bullets Wireless Z, the new model will include 9.2mm drivers and fast charge support that will give you 10 hours of battery life in around 10 minutes.
