- The OnePlus 9E can be connected to the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro.
- There is not a word on what this phone could offer.
- Samsung had previously launched a flagship with the nickname “E”.
We expect OnePlus to offer OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro in the first half of 2021, which will run on the Snapdragon 875 processor. However, it looks like another OnePlus 9 series phone is in the works.
Frequent tipster Max Jambor claimed the manufacturer was working on a OnePlus 9E, although further details on that device were not disclosed.
We’re not entirely sure where a OnePlus 9E would fit in the flagship, but we’ve already seen Samsung offer the “E” moniker for its Galaxy S10e.
So it stands to reason that this could be a cheaper flagship than the standard OnePlus 9, with a few cuts here and there to bring the price down. For example, the Galaxy S10e differed from its peers with a lower resolution screen, a smaller battery, and a dual rear camera setup instead of a triple rear shooter.
We also hope that what appears to be the OnePlus 9E as a smaller device will follow in the footsteps of the Galaxy S10e. After all, the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro offer large 6.55-inch and 6.78-inch displays. One recently Android Authority A survey also found that a slim majority of readers would sacrifice battery capacity for a smaller phone. So there definitely seems to be a market for a more compact design.
