OnePlus 9 series could launch earlier than expected
- The OnePlus 9 series is set to hit the market a month earlier than the OnePlus 8 Duo.
- This comes after multiple reports that Samsung is also pushing its Galaxy S30 launch.
The first details of the OnePlus 9 series are beginning to kick in. The device is said to be codenamed Lemonade. Now another leak may have worked out rough details about how to start.
An “inside source” said Android Central that OnePlus has not yet set a release date for the OnePlus 9 series, but the launch is planned for mid-March. That obvious launch date would be about a month earlier than the OnePlus 8 series, which launched on April 14, 2020.
There’s no word on the OnePlus 9-series specs yet, but we’re expecting Snapdragon 875 silicon and high refresh rate OLED displays. The OnePlus 8 Pro also brought features like water resistance and wireless charging, so that’s what we would expect if there was a OnePlus 9 Pro.
It’s not the first time we’ve heard reports of flagship launches in 2021. The Samsung Galaxy S30 series is expected to hit the market as early as January 2021. This would be a little earlier than the Galaxy S20 series and the February 11th release date.
However, there is also news of a possibly earlier launch date for the OnePlus 9 series, as the company is widely expected to launch two budget phones soon. The company is inclined to launch the OnePlus Nord N10 5G and N100, with the former said to offer Snapdragon 690 performance while the latter reportedly uses the Snapdragon 460 chipset.
