- After a demolition of i attach itThe OnePlus 9 Pro isn’t the easiest phone to repair.
- The device achieved a 4 out of 10 points i attach itRepairability scale.
- This is due to the glued back panel, the extensive dismantling and the display, which is difficult to remove.
The OnePlus 9 Pro has received i attach it‘s famous tear off treatment, and things are not looking good in terms of repairability.
The opening process of the phone is similar to that of the Galaxy S21 Ultra, with the back being glued in place with a reasonable amount of glue. The repairman also had to wade through a few cables before he could pull out the battery connector. So forget about replacing the phone’s battery yourself. Not that you would do that anyway.
However, the phone has handy pull tabs on the two batteries that make it easier to remove and give the phone an edge over the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which uses a lot of glue on the back of the battery.
Only when the batteries are discharged can the quad camera system of the OnePlus 9 Pro be removed.
Overall, the repairability of the OnePlus 9 Pro remains unchanged compared to the OnePlus 8 Pro.
“The easily removable battery and the relatively modular structure are always easy to see, but the glued-on back wall is an entry and repair barrier that makes things even worse. Access to the display requires a lot of disassembly and, thanks to the tough adhesive and curved edges, is difficult to remove if it breaks, ”the iFixit concludes.
The phone gets a score of 4 out of 10 on the publication’s repair scale (10 is the easiest to repair). In comparison, the Galaxy S21 Ultra received one point less for its harder breakdown, while the Galaxy S21 also received a 4 versus 10.
