TL; DR

  • Samsung’s first beta for One UI 4.0 based on Android 12 starts in September.
  • The beta program will support the Samsung Galaxy S21 series at least initially.
  • As in previous years, you need to apply in the Samsung Members App to get access to the beta.

The official stable launch of Android 12 is just around the corner. As in previous years, Google Pixel users are offering beta versions of the software, but other OEMs are also using beta programs. However, Samsung is not one of these companies.

However, Samsung fans won’t have to wait long to try out Android 12 on a Samsung phone. The company has just announced that the One UI 4.0 Beta, based on Android 12, will be released in September. Unfortunately, a more precise date was not given.

Check out the official announcement poster below.

As usual, Samsung isn’t making the beta available to everyone. You need to request access in the Samsung Members app on your Galaxy S21 phone. Finally, a banner image will appear there that you will tap to fill out your application. If accepted, you will get beta access.

Stay tuned as we will likely have a lot of information soon on what’s in the first beta of One UI 4.0!
