Former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei announced his new company called Nothing earlier this year. But without knowing that the company will be announcing audio products, we don’t know much else about their goods.
Now the company announced Concept 1 and it still hasn’t told us what that product is. Based on the picture it posted (shown above), it looks like there are real wireless earbuds on the cards.
The company reiterated that its mid- to long-term goal is to offer “barely noticeable technology” without screens or dedicated devices. “In the short to medium term, we need to start with existing product categories and interpret them through our lens,” he explained.
Nothing noticed that Concept 1 was “a first expression of our design principles” and showed a transparent design. In addition, the team stated that the design was inspired by a grandmother’s tobacco pipe.
The company has not revealed anything else about this new product or whether it is even a commercially available device. However, it reiterated that its first products would arrive in the summer. But hopefully by then we’ll see less teasing and more specific information.
