Nokia T20 tablet is official with a 2K display
TL; DR
- HMD Global has just announced the Nokia T20 tablet, a first for Nokia’s newest parent brand.
- The tablet has some decent specs but doesn’t offer much to make it unique.
- It will cost you $ 249.99 / £ 199.99 for the 4G-enabled model and is available to order now.
Update, October 8, 2021 (9:11 a.m. ET): When HMD Global gave us advance information about this tablet, it gave us incorrect specifications. The Nokia T20 does not have the Snapdragon 480 chipset and is therefore not 5G-capable. We have edited the following article to reflect this.
Original article, Oct. 6, 2021 (5:00 p.m. ET): Since HMD Global acquired the Nokia wireless brand, we’ve launched a number of Nokia phones. However, we had not yet seen a tablet launch, but that is changing today.

HMD has just removed the covers from the Nokia T20 tablet. The Android-based Slate has some decent specs, an almost-in-stock Android, and a very competitive price point.
Of course, it takes more than just offering good specs at a good price to make a great Android tablet. Against this background, HMD does not seem to be driving any real innovations here. However, if you are looking for a cheap Android tablet that can do the basics, now seems like a great option.
Nokia T20 Tablet: What Are You Getting?
The Nokia T20 is a 10.4-inch slate with a 2K LCD display with 2,000 x 1,200 pixels. It can reach 400 nits of brightness, which is not bad, but not great either.
Under the hood there is a Unisoc T610, which is not a powerful chip. Paired with that is 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage (although a 3 GB / 32 GB variant can also be seen in some regions of the world). Either way, you get a microSD card slot to expand this storage up to 512GB if needed.
There is a 5 MP camera on the front. There is an 8MP shooter on the back. There is a USB-C port for charging the 8,200 mAh battery with up to 15 W and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The whole thing runs on almost stock Android 11, and HMD Global says the Nokia T20 will get Android 12 at some point. If you need mobile connectivity, there are 4G-capable models as well as Wi-Fi-only variants.
Otherwise there are no really unique features of the tablet. It’s basically a great Nokia cell phone.
