Nokia G20 comes to the US with a big battery and a low price
TL; DR
- Nokia will launch the G20 in the US on June 28 for $ 199.
- The phone combines a 6.5-inch screen with a huge 5050 mAh battery and a 48 MP camera.
- It could be good value if you’re happy with a modest MediaTek G35 chip.
One of the most important models in Nokia’s revamped range of cell phones is going to the United States. HMD Global’s Nokia brand has announced that the G20 will be available in the US on June 28th in the colors “Night” and “Glacier” at a price of 199 US dollars.
The catch, as in other countries, is the combination of this low price with a huge battery. The Nokia G20 includes a 5050 mAh power adapter that is said to provide three days of battery life. We wouldn’t be surprised if real world power falls short at times, but that still suggests you could get through a weekend without recharging.
The performance is modest, but this could add to the longevity. You have to get by with a 6.5-inch 720p LCD, a MediaTek Helio G35 chip, and 4GB of RAM. However, the version coming to the US offers both 128 GB of expandable storage and dual SIM support, so you don’t need space or an additional phone line.

A 48 MP main camera, a 5 MP ultra wide camera, a 2 MP macro, and a 2 MP depth sensor provide photography that you would largely expect in this category. An 8-megapixel front camera provides selfies on the Nokia G20.
Software support is also billed as a relative strength. Nokia promises two years of Android feature updates for the G20 and three years of security updates. This is not as extensive as Samsung’s three-year major OS updates (plus up to four years of security updates) for many models, but strong for a device in this price range and important if you want the latest software.
The Nokia G20 can offer solid value for money. Motorola’s 2021 G Play is slightly cheaper at $ 169.99 with a similar screen and battery, but you also lose RAM (3GB), storage (just 32GB), main camera resolution (13MP), and a SIM slot. The G20 seems to hit a sweet spot that helps it last longer for just a little more effort.
