  • HMD launched the Nokia 3.4 and Nokia 2.4.
  • The devices are aimed at price ranges below USD 200 and USD 150, respectively.
  • The company also unveiled new TWS earbuds and a bluetooth speaker.

HMD’s affordable Nokia phones aren’t necessarily the first choice if your country is spoiled for choice, but they definitely do the job well enough. Fortunately, Nokia brand licensee has more budget up its sleeve with the announcement of Nokia 2.4 and Nokia 3.4.

The Nokia 3.4 is clearly the more powerful device of the two, as the name suggests. It is one of the first phones with the Snapdragon 460 chipset, which gives the Snapdragon 400 series more powerful CPU cores for the first time. In theory, this should mean that you can expect faster loading times for games and apps, faster image processing, and less jerking in everyday use.

The Nokia 3.4 also offers 3GB to 4GB of RAM, 32GB to 64GB of expandable storage, a 6.39-inch HD + LCD screen and a 4,000 mAh battery. The tasks of the camera are taken over by a triple rear-view camera setup (13 MP, 5 MP ultra-wide and 2 MP depth) and an 8 MP camera in a hole cutout.

Rounding out the list of notable features is a Google Assistant button, 10W charging, USB-C, a fingerprint scanner on the back, and NFC (but not in Latin America or North America).

The Nokia 2.4 is the latest in the entry-level range of HMDs smartphones and has some improvements over the Nokia 2.3, which was released almost a year ago. Notable upgrades include a larger battery (from 4,000 mAh to 4,500 mAh), a fingerprint scanner, and AI portrait and night modes.

The Nokia low-end phone also features a 6.5-inch HD + screen, Helio P22 chipset, 2GB to 3GB of RAM, and 32GB to 64GB of expandable storage. The photography is taken over by a 13MP + 2MP rear pair and a 5MP selfie shooter. Other notable specs include micro-USB connectivity (no USB-C here), NFC, and a Google Assistant button.

Expect to get € 159 / $ 179 on the Nokia 3.4 while getting back € 119 / $ 139 on the Nokia 2.4. Both phones will be available in Europe from October 26th in Charcoal, Dust and Fjord colors. According to HMD, the Nokia 2.4 will be pre-ordered in the US on September 23rd via Amazon, while the Nokia 3.4 will be available in the country “later this year”.

These aren’t the only devices HMD announced, as it also revealed two audio accessories in the Nokia Power Earbuds Lite and the Nokia Wireless Speaker. The real wireless earbuds bring you back € 59 and offer IPX7 protection and up to 35 hours of playback with the charging case. The wireless speaker offers up to four hours of playback time, an integrated microphone and the option of connecting two speakers together € 34.
