No, KFC isn’t releasing a new games console
Not to be surpassed Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft Xbox Series X.The fast food restaurant chain KFC (formerly known as Kentucky Fried Chicken) jokingly launched its own game console.
Unfortunately, it is not real.
KFC released a video on June 12, a day later, showing its new KFConsole on social media unveil the PlayStation 5 with a controversial new design.
The KFConsole looks like a real game console with a power switch, a drive and red lights. The video also claims that KFConsole is cross-platform compatible.
One detail, however, reveals the joke – the KFConsole also has a glowing red grill built in, which is referred to as the “chicken room” when players have an urge to cook some chicken.
The KFConsole video is released on November 12th. We hope that KFC has planned a follow-up joke. Just don’t plan to buy this high-tech game console that also serves as a grill. KFC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
While the console is a smart joke, KFC actually has an interesting game. His KFC Gaming Twitter account has over 123.6,000 followers and the KFC Gaming Instagram account has 66.6,000 followers.
Previously, KFC released a real game called 2019 I love you Colonel Sanders Dating Simulator gamethat were previously launched on Steam; and KFC is currently encouraging players to build and share KFC builds in Minecraft.
KFC is also not afraid to do unusual marketing stunts, including real ones KFC roast chicken computer keyboard complete with a chicken drumstick mouse, Sunscreen with a scent of fried chicken, KFC nail polish it tastes like fried chicken and KFC Crocs shoes this year.
So when it comes to KFC products, it is sometimes difficult to tell what is real and what is a funny joke. As expected, players on social media asked themselves whether the KFConsole was real or a joke.
A curious player tweeted: “Any exclusive titles?”
KFC replied with the comment “You know it” along with a picture of KFC’s I Love You Colonel Sanders Dating Simulator game.
Another player tweeted, “Dayummmm, how much space? I think 2ChickenBytes.”
KFC jokingly replied with the tweet “2 Terabites”.
Even Xbox replied to the KFC tweet, “Can you put it sideways?” as a reference to the latest console design memes for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
Here are a few more reactions from social media.
