TL; DR
- The Nintendo Switch OLED model will see its first round of pre-orders today at 3:00 p.m. ET.
- You can get the device on or about October 8, 2021, and it costs $ 350.
- It will likely be very difficult to get hold of a pre-order as the supply is likely to be limited.
If you are looking for the latest Nintendo Switch hardware, today is the big day. Though we didn’t have much warning on this matter, Nintendo announced that pre-orders for the latest Switch begin today, July 15, at 3:00 p.m. ET.
Pre-orders placed today are for launch on October 8th. If you’ve successfully pre-ordered, you should receive your Switch on or around this date.
Of course there is a big “if”. Judging by the 2020 launches of the Sony PlayStation 5 and Microsoft Xbox Series X, it will likely be very difficult to pre-order a Nintendo Switch OLED model. Demand is likely lower than these next-gen consoles, but the Nintendo Switch is still insanely popular. It is not impossible to assume that the OLED model will be one of the most sought-after items this holiday season.
