Nintendo announces E3 event, could be Nintendo Switch Pro reveal?
Over the past few weeks there have been rumors that Nintendo may soon be launching an updated version of its latest home console. Today the company set a date for a new event related to E3. Could these rumors and this event be related?
The Nintendo Direct event will take place on June 15th (via Polygon). Unsurprisingly, Nintendo doesn’t mention Nintendo Switch Pro or other console-related news. Instead, it has been confirmed that details on upcoming Switch games will be revealed. However, that doesn’t mean there wasn’t time for a Switch Pro announcement.

The Direct begins livestreaming Tuesday, June 15 at 12:00 PM ET. Nintendo confirms it will take 40 minutes. Once the event is over, a Nintendo Treehouse Live will begin immediately and last for three hours. The Treehouse event will likely feature expanded details and live gameplay for the games announced during the Direct.
Even if a Switch Pro doesn’t land on June 15th, there will be plenty of juicy announcements. We expect new information on Mario Golf: Super Rush, the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3 and possibly an update on the status of Metroid Prime 4.
Keep in mind that the console probably wouldn’t hit store shelves until the fall, even if Nintendo reveals details about the Nintendo Switch Pro.
