The latest report of a leak on the Samsung Galaxy S21 (which we have previously referred to as the Galaxy S30) is quite extensive. It comes from Android policewho claims to have received information on the next flagship series of Galaxy phones from many sources. The report also claims that it saw official representations of the three phones on the series, but the story has not released these as it could reveal the identities of its sources.
Galaxy S21 Series Hardware Specifications
Reports indicate that all three phones will feature the currently unannounced Samsung Qualcomm 875 processor for some markets, while others will get Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2100 chipset. The Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus are said to offer 5G support as well as wireless Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 hardware. The S21 Ultra will also have 5G and Bluetooth 5.1, but with the more advanced Wi-Fi 6E hardware, which the report says will be twice as fast as Wi-Fi 6.
The battery sizes for the phones should be between 4,000 mAh for the Galaxy S21, 4800 mAh for the S21 + and 5000 mAh for the S21 Ultra. According to reports, all three phones will start with the Android 11-based OneOS 3.1 skin.
In terms of an ad, the report claims that the regular S21 will have a 6.2-inch screen while the S21 Plus will have a 6.8-inch screen. B0th supports FHD + resolutions and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The S21 Ultra is said to have a 6.9-inch screen with a WQHD + resolution and an LTPO screen with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The Ultra model may also have a very high brightness limit of 1600 nits for the display and a contrast ratio of 3,000,000: 1. Finally, the report claims that the Ultra phone actually supports S-pens but the pen doesn’t in the package.
Galaxy S21 series camera specifications and features
According to the report, both the Galaxy S21 and S21 Ultra will have the same rear camera with a 12-megapixel main sensor, a 64-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor. The Ultra model will have four rear cameras, according to the report. The main sensor will be a giant 108-megapixel camera, which, according to history, will be the second generation of the sensor on the S20 Ultra and Note 20 Ultra. The S21 Ultra will have a 12MP ultrawide sensor, and the other two cameras will both be 10MP. One has 3x optical zoom while the other has 10x optical zoom.
Other camera features reportedly include the ability to record from both the front and rear cameras at the same time. All cameras on the phone support 4K resolutions and video clips recorded at 60 fps. According to the story, it even supports 8K videos at 30 fps.
Other properties
The Galaxy S21 is said to have color options for phantom purple, phantom gray, phantom white and phantom pink. The S21 Plus can be in Phantom Silver, Phantom Black and Phantom Violet. The S21 Ultra only has the color options Phantom Silver and Phantom Black. The regular S21 will have a plastic back, while the Ultra model will have a glass back.
As for the back cover, the report claims that the recent unofficial depictions of the phones are correct in that it inserts the camera settings with a small bump in the phone’s frame. Depending on the color of the phone, the frame and camera bumper are different colors. The report claims that the Phantom Black phone paint will have a black frame and camera butt, while the Phantom Violet and Phantom Pink color models will have a copper body. The story goes that the Phantom White color model has “a subtle shade of blue with a bronze bezel”.
Eventually, the S21 Plus and Ultra versions will have 5G Ultra WideBand versions, which will likely only be available in the US through Verizon.
