- There is a new module in the Samsung Galaxy Labs app called Thermal Guardian.

- This is a great new option for Samsung power users who want to squeeze the most juice out of their device.
A few days ago, Samsung quietly released a new module in its Galaxy Labs app. Known as the Thermal Guardian, the module gives you limited control over your phone’s CPU throttling. You can easily increase CPU performance at the expense of higher thermal temperatures. Conversely, you can do the opposite and keep your phone cool with slightly less powerful CPU processing.
Samsung isn’t letting you go wild here for obvious reasons. You can only optimize the performance of your CPU by two degrees in either direction. In other words, you can run the CPU two degrees warmer or two degrees cooler than usual, but not more.

Still, milking a little more power from an aging CPU could bring big gains. For example, if you have an older Samsung Galaxy phone, an extra rush of juice can mean the difference between a constant frame rate in a high-end mobile game. On the other hand, lowering the heat output of your CPU by two degrees can help your newer Samsung phone last longer because it doesn’t absorb as much heat.
You can find the Thermal Guardian module in the Samsung Galaxy Labs app, which you can download from the Galaxy Store. It complements previous modules that allow you to analyze battery life and optimize your apps.
