  • Both earphone sets support the IPX4 rating and the advanced microphone software with JustMyVoice technology.

Panasonic subsidiary Technics has released two new true wireless earbuds aimed at modern workers who spend a lot of time in conference calls. The Technics EAH-AZ60 has active noise cancellation (ANC), and the Technics EAH-AZ40 has a similar design with no noise cancellation. Both earbuds have microphone systems that use JustMyVoice technology to isolate the speaker’s voice even from background noise.

The EAH-AZ60 are the premium earphones with an array of eight microphones and use hybrid noise cancellation to actively combat ambient noise. By supporting some Bluetooth codecs (SBC, AAC and LDAC), these earbuds stand out from the crowd of alternatives that generally only support SBC and AAC.

When the noise cancellation is switched on, the earphones offer seven hours of playback, and when the ANC is switched off, 30 minutes. The case offers an additional 24-25 hours of reserve power, depending on how often ANC is activated. Just 15 minutes in the USB-C case results in 70-80 minutes of playback. Technics offers five pairs of silicone earbuds, from extra small to extra large, that will fit most ears.

The Technics EAH-AZ40 has many visual similarities to the EAH-AZ60, but the standard model has no ANC and LDAC support and has a six-microphone system. Without the hardware required for ANC, the EAH-AZ40 is slightly smaller and lighter than its higher-quality counterpart. The EAH-AZ40 lasts for seven and a half hours and the USB-C housing provides an additional 25 hours of playback. Technics includes four pairs of earbuds that range from extra small to large.

Both earbuds use Bluetooth 5.2, have a wireless range of 10 m and deserve an IPX4 rating. The Technics EAH-AZ60 and EAH-AZ40 will retail for $ 199.99 and $ 129.99, respectively, in October.
