New Microsoft event could see Microsoft Surface Duo 2
TL; DR
- Microsoft could finally unveil the Microsoft Surface Duo 2 smartphone during a scheduled press event on September 22nd.
- The Android-based phone had previously leaked with a new camera module.
- Microsoft could also announce a new Surface Pro tablet, a new Surface laptop, and the Surface Go 3 at the event.
Microsoft looks like there will be a jam-packed Surface press event three weeks from today. The company just announced that it will hold an online event on Wednesday, September 22nd at 11:00 AM ET.
In addition to the Duo 2, several Windows-based hardware devices are expected to be presented at the Surface press event. Based on Microsoft’s own teaser image for the event, one of them could be the Surface Pro 8 tablet. Windows headquarters adds that we also saw a new Surface Pro X tablet, a new Surface-branded convertible notebook, and an affordable Surface Go 3 laptop at the event.
The event takes place less than two weeks before Microsoft officially launches Windows 11, the next major version of its Windows PC operating system. Microsoft has been promoting the operating system’s support for running Android apps through the Amazon App Store, but this week the company admitted that support would not be available at launch. Users can try it out through the Windows Insider Program sometime in the coming months.
