- The Google Phone app now has a new function for announcing caller IDs.
- This will allow your phone to announce all incoming calls and numbers.
Imagine that you are in the middle of something very important and your phone is ringing in the distance, completely ruining your concentration. You now need to get up, pick up your phone and see who is calling. Well, the Google Phone app finally gives you a new caller ID feature.
When you want to activate it, the new Google Phone feature will announce the name and number of all incoming calls. Yes, it’s a pretty basic feature that the app was missing before, but the current stable release adds it in the form of a new setting called Caller ID Announcement.
You can find the function on the main settings page of the app. Tapping it will bring up the Announce Caller ID option. From here, you can turn it on for all calls only when using a headset, or turn it off completely. You can see the screenshots above for reference.
