Netflix ‘Play Something’ feature chooses what to watch
- The new Netflix Play Something feature removes all decisions about what to watch.
- Netflix suggests movies or series that you might be interested in at the touch of a button. It will delete data from videos you’ve watched and items on your list.
- This new feature is now available to all Netflix users.
We’ve all been there: it’s been a long day and you just want to curl up on the couch with some ice cream and watch a movie. But then you have a problem: what should you see? There are so many possibilities! You should relax and instead you get stressed and start crying uncontrollably in your chunky monkey.
OK, maybe we weren’t in that exact situation, but we all followed the “what should I see?” Dilemma. Thankfully, Netflix is here to save us from ourselves by adding a new feature: the Netflix “Play Something” button.
Connected: Netflix: pricing, content, and everything else you need to know
As the name suggests, the Play Something button does just that: plays something. First, Netflix suggests a movie or series that you haven’t seen yet, but that you will like. However, if that’s not good enough for you, you can hit the “Play Something Else” button and it will pull in something from one of these categories:
- A brand new series or movie
- A series or movie that you are already watching
- A series or movie on your list
- An unfinished series or movie that you might want to revisit
You can just hit the Netflix Play Something button over and over until you finally land on an episode of the community you’ve watched 672 times. Saved evening!
To use this new feature, the button can be found under your profile name or in the menu area on the left of the screen. It will also appear on the tenth line of your homepage.
