Multiple trade-ins allowed for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3

TL; DR
- Samsung is adjusting its trade-in restrictions for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3.
- Instead of trading in just one device to cut costs, you can (at least in the US) trade two devices at the same time.
- The change is part of a bigger effort by Samsung to get foldables into the hands of more customers.
Most people would agree that foldable phones are pretty neat. It feels futuristic to literally fold your phone in half. However, questions about the durability of foldable phones – and their sky-high prices – put many consumers off.
In the US (and possibly other countries), Samsung allows trade-ins of up to two devices to lower the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Samsung usually only allows a trade-in. This time around, however, if you have two high quality devices that you don’t want to keep, you can cut the price of the Fold 3 significantly.
Samsung won’t just accept smartphones either. You can also trade in tablets and smartwatches. Of course, the company only accepts certain makes / models and these must be in good condition to maximize your trading.
When you factor in the fact that Samsung is also offering a year of Samsung Care Plus for free when you pre-reserve a Galaxy Z Fold 3, it’s clear that the company really wants to bring foldable devices to market. After all, the company has cornered the market – if it can make foldable “normal” it will have virtually no competition for the next year or two.
