Moto watch image shows Snapdragon Wear 4100
- An enterprising Reddit user spotted a reference to the Snapdragon Wear 4100 chipset on a promotional image for a Moto branded watch.
- In theory, this upcoming Moto watch could have that advanced chip, Wear OS, and wireless charging.
- So far there has only been one watch on the market with the SD4100, so this would be a welcome competition.
A Wear OS fan found some interesting information on Reddit today (h / t) 9to5Google). Using an investor package launched last week in connection with upcoming Moto branded smartwatches, the user found that one of the unreleased watches could feature Qualcomm’s latest wearable processor: the Snapdragon Wear 4100.

Reddit user “TheMacJezza” found this information using Photoshop. They used one of the promotional photos from the investor kit and increased the contrast and highlights. Once that’s done, they’ll be able to read the text around the watch’s rear sensors better.
If you look at the picture above you can see what they found. The white text was added by the Reddit user to better clarify what you are seeing. If this picture is correct, it is very likely that this watch has the Snapdragon Wear 4100.
Moto watch with Snapdragon Wear 4100
This Moto branded watch and the other two shown in the investor kit are not made by Motorola. Instead, Canadian company eBuyNow creates the watches and tags them with the Moto name it licensed from Motorola.
So far we haven’t seen anything too incredible at eBuyNow when it comes to Wear OS watches. However, a watch with the Snapdragon Wear 4100 would put it in direct competition with the only other commercially available watch with the processor: the TicWatch Pro 3. This watch has a very distinctive design that may or may not be your cup of tea. Another watch with the same performance could be a real winner.

In addition to the processor, the watch shown in the picture above also has wireless charging coils. This is another feature that most Wear OS watches lack – they’re usually tied to proprietary charging cables. Not even the TicWatch Pro 3, for example, has wireless charging.
Hopefully eBuyNow will be making some announcements for this Snapdragon Wear 4100 watch soon as Wear OS fans now have something to get excited about.
