Most would demand a low price for Google’s Apple One rival
David Imel / Android Authority
Google has several services that could easily be bundled into a single subscription, much like Apple One. Currently, Google users have to subscribe to some services individually. However, Apple users can pay for a single subscription to get a range of services. The latter bundle contains Apple TV Plus, Apple Music, Apple Arcade and 50 GB iCloud storage for a base price. Even if it could work for Apple, would you pay for something similar if Google offered it?
We asked you this question in a recent survey. That’s how you reacted.
How much would you pay for a Google version of Apple One?
Results
Apple One starts at $ 14.95, and that’s unsurprisingly what most readers would be willing to pay for a similar service from Google. More than 60% of respondents see a price between $ 10 and $ 15 as the best place for a service that includes YouTube Music, 100GB of Google Drive storage, Google Play Pass, and YouTube Premium. Only 16.5% of readers would be willing to pay between $ 1 and $ 4 more for this package.
Interestingly, the second most popular option was “$ 40 or more”. We’re not entirely sure if these respondents read the context of our survey, but it’s interesting to note that nearly 8% of readers would drop that amount on Google’s cheapest Apple One competitor.
According to the comments, we may have left out an option. Some readers are unwilling to spend a dime on Google’s bouquet. Read some more reader anecdotes below.
You told us that
- naduh: where is the $ 0 option? Personally, I don’t think Google’s products are good enough to get out of my pocket for that. And why should I spend money on a product that would kill Google after a year or two?
- Johnny Ravioli: $ 0.
- Rick45TX: If you could trust Google not to snoop around its associated storage and keep track of what you used for the services, I could consider it. But since it’s * Google * there is no way I would pay.
- Guy_Jorgen_Gold: The cost of all of these services combined is around $ 20, so obviously less.
- EasyCare: Will That Ever Happen? Many Google services come and go. Even if they are there, they are isolated and do not work well with each other.
- Sachouba: Why would I be willing to pay for it? The only worthwhile service is Google Drive. If all other services are free with a Google Drive subscription why not, but otherwise I’ll just stick with Spotify and YouTube Vanced.
That’s it for this poll. Thank you for your votes and comments. If you have any other thoughts, feel free to drop them in the comments below.
