- Microsoft Xbox Series S console specs has been leaked.

- The disc-free console also has a custom NVMe SSD.
It’s raining on Xbox Series S today. Microsoft has just confirmed the new console and its prices for various markets, and now we have the alleged specs too thanks to another leak.
Tipster Walking catwho previously released an excerpt from the Xbox Series S prior to official confirmation from Microsoft, has now outsourced an official promo video for the console. The one-minute, 31-second video (embedded below) shows the Xbox Series S in its entirety and also confirms some of its specs as well.
Microsoft Xbox Series S specifications
According to the leaked promo, the Xbox Series S is 60% smaller than the Xbox Series X. It has support for 1440p gaming at a refresh rate of 120Hz. However, it allows 4K streaming as well as 4K upscaling for gaming.
The video also confirms the presence of a custom NVMe SSD based on the Xbox Velocity architecture that is used to load game assets from storage faster while reducing the space on the drive. The Xbox Series X also uses the new Velocity architecture.
Elsewhere, the video shows that the Xbox Series S is disc-free and has 512GB of storage, which may not be ideal given the size of games these days. However, the cheaper next-gen Xbox could potentially get removable storage through expansion cards, just like its older sibling, the Xbox Series X.
The console also provides support for DirectX ray tracing, variable rate shading, and variable refresh rate. That’s a lot to pack into a $ 299 machine. In fact, those who can’t afford the bigger, higher-end console will find that the Xbox Series S has a decent void before they opt for a $ 500 machine.
