Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella teased news about the “next generation of Windows” at the Build 2021 event last month, and it now looks like the company will officially reveal details.
The Redmond-based company just announced a live stream for June 24th at 11 a.m. ET encouraging consumers to watch it to see what’s next for Windows. So what should we actually expect?
Windows headquarters reported that Microsoft is working on a major design change for the Windows user interface, which the UI project is allegedly dubbed “Sun Valley”. The project is believed to bring visual and functional changes to elements such as the Start menu, File Explorer, and the Action Center.
The outlet adds that Sun Valley is part of what is known as the Cobalt update for Windows 10. It further claims that Cobalt is slated for the Christmas season.
Nadella also stated last month that the next generation of Windows will “open greater business opportunities for developers and creators.” So we’ll probably have to wait until June 24th to find out what he means.
