- Google released a new app called Stack.
- With Stack, users can better scan, store, and organize important physical documents.
- It is currently only available in the US.
Google has a new useful app in its arsenal for those who want to fully scan, save and organize important documents. The app, called Stack, was developed by the company’s Area 120 division – the team behind old favorites like Reply and Grasshopper.
Stack is practically a scanner app with an AI touch. This allows users to scan important documents, receipts or invoices with the smartphone camera. The app also uses Google’s intelligent speech recognition and optical character recognition features to name them and automatically suggest the correct category. These categories, obviously referred to as “stacks”, are practically virtual filing cabinets.
The app also extracts other important details from documents, such as: B. Account numbers, amounts due from invoices and due dates. This feature makes it easy to copy images and text to other apps, messages, or emails. The built-in search also allows users to search documents using keywords.
For security reasons, Stack can be locked with face recognition or a fingerprint. The app can also save copies of the documents in Google Drive.

Stack is currently only available to users in the United States. There’s no word from Google as to when the app will be available in other regions. Since this is an experimental app, there is also no promise that Google will continue to support Stack in the future. However, you can download it from the Google Play Store using the button below.
