  • Google released the Android security update for Pixel phones from May 2021.
  • It contains fixes for some moderate security issues, including Qualcomm code.
  • Other devices will receive the update soon.

Without an Android security update, this wouldn’t be the start of a new month and you won’t be disappointed. Google released the May 2021 patch for Pixel 3 and newer Pixel phones. Some notable security loopholes are worth fixing.

Most of the May Android update fixes bugs in Qualcomm code, including moderate camera security holes and three closed source elements. It also shows three patches for three kernel errors that affect MIDI, tracing, and TTY.

Google didn’t mention any functional improvements for Android in the May update as we write this. While we wouldn’t rule out practical upgrades, this upgrade might primarily focus on security.

You should receive the May 2021 Android update as a wireless patch and receive a notification when it becomes available. However, if you can’t wait, you can manually install the factory and OTA images using the links below.
