In addition to offering a feature drop at the beginning of the month, Google is also offering Pixel owners a major patch. Droid life reports that the company is rolling out Android’s security update for March 2021 for Pixel phones from Pixel 3 to Pixel 5.

The March update provides fixes for 43 Android security issues, including eight high priority vulnerabilities. It may be worth updating these enhancements on your own, even if you are unlikely to be exposed to attack.

Most of all, however, you’ll appreciate the March Android update for its bug fixes. The upgrade primarily fixes certain automatic Android disconnections for all Pixel devices. It also addresses the occurrence of unwanted missed call notifications on the Pixel 4a series and Pixel 5.

Other corrections in the Android update from March also focus on lines Pixel 4a and 5. You will find solutions for a “hacked” full screen display, a faulty autorotate functionality and the “stuck” battery indicator. A more comprehensive update to the full range of supported phones also improves the delivery of heads-up notifications for tagged contacts while in Do Not Disturb mode.

The Android security update for March 2021 should be available now. However, you can download factory images or wireless files if you can’t wait.

As so often, the bigger question may be when your non-Pixel devices get updates. It couldn’t take too long – Samsung, for example, was quick to track the February 2021 upgrade. Still, if you don’t have a pixel, you may need to be patient.
