Peggy Johnson will Virtual reality start-up Magic LeapThe new CEO announced the company in a press release on Tuesday, taking over the position of co-founder Rony Abovitz cleared in May. She will take on the role on August 1st
Johnson was Executive Vice President of Business Development at Microsoft after joining the company in 2014. Before that, she held various management positions at chip manufacturer Qualcomm.
“The technological foundation of Magic Leap is undeniable and there is no question that it can affect the future of XR and computing,” Johnson said in the press release. “As CEO, I look forward to building lasting relationships that connect Magic Leap’s breakthrough technology and pipeline to the diverse digital needs of businesses of all sizes and industries.”
