- A video has been released to show the LG Wing’s user interface outside of apps.
- You can get an extra large view of your settings and notifications.
- LG will reveal more over the phone on September 14th.
You’ve seen the LG Wing’s clever rotating display when used with apps and games, but what will the interface look like? If a new leak is accurate, you may have an idea.
A Korean video (via Twitter users Fold the universe) will appear to show the Wing home screen and notification shadow. As you can imagine, LG would take advantage of the unusual design even in a seemingly pedestrian situation like this one. You can pan the display to get an extra large (if stretched) version of your quick controls and alerts, while keeping part of your home page visible at the bottom.
The clip also offers a glimpse of the phone beyond the screen, including an iridescent finish reminiscent of the velvet. The camera array is quite different from the Velvet, although the leak doesn’t look good.
Many of the Wing’s details remain a mystery, although it could have the performance of an upper-midrange phone with a Snapdragon 765G chip and 5G wireless. However, it could be as expensive as a high-end device priced close to $ 1,000 in the US. So you could be paying a premium for that extra screen.

LG officially introduces the Wing on September 14th. Videos like this suggest it might be a thoroughly unusual phone in everyday use, but the company clearly expects it to be. The Wing launches an Explorer Project category of cross-border phones. This means that you are taking risks for interfaces that may only appeal to certain people.
