Lenovo ThinkPad C13 Yoga is a business 4-in-1 with Chromebook smarts
- Lenovo announced a new Chromebook for the enterprise market.
- It combines the convertible design of the Yoga line with the functional structure of the ThinkPad series.
- The device, known as the ThinkPad C13 Yoga, starts at $ 579.
Lenovo has long imagined Chromebooks to be more than glorified web surfers and in the past offered Chrome OS with its Yoga and ThinkPad lines. Now the company is bringing these three elements together with its newest device. Lenovo’s new productivity tool called the ThinkPad C13 Yoga Chromebook combines the usefulness of the ThinkPad line with the 4-in-1 design smarts of the Yoga series.
The Chromebook has chunky lines and looks stronger than the 1.5 kg weight suggests. A number of other ThinkPad touches are also included. The red TrackPoint, along with a well-spaced keyboard, was a welcome appearance. This Chromebook doesn’t have a dedicated numeric keypad, but users get large Shift, Control, and Alt keys on the left. There are also special buttons for left, middle, and right click above the large trackpad.
It’s not the thinnest Chromebook available, but 15.5mm should leave enough free space in travelers’ carry-on bags. A 13.3-inch FHD IPS display supports a compact footprint. Users can also opt for a touchscreen with an optional pen or a 4K option if additional pixels are required.

Internally, the ThinkPad C13 Yoga is powered by AMD’s Ryzen 7 chipsets, with the quad-core Octa-Thread 3700C being the top option. A boost clock of 4.0 GHz should be sufficient for Chrome OS.
There are also a variety of port options. There are four USB ports (two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A) on the edges of the ThinkPad. There’s also a full-size HDMI 2.0 port that allows users to output 4K at 60 fps to an external display. The on / off switch and a volume rocker are also located on the right edge of the ThinkPad C13 Yoga. There is a Kensington lock slot in the corner.
Other special features include Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, an optional camera with a view of the world above the keyboard and a fingerprint scanner. Remote workers can also upgrade to Chrome Enterprise, which enables cloud syncing across devices. This allows users to switch between the work profile of their Android smartphone and their Chromebook at will.
The Lenovo ThinkPad C13 Yoga is an interesting alternative for Windows laptops in the workplace. It starts at $ 579 and will be available “soon”. A full list of spec options isn’t available yet, but at this base price, some of the best Chromebooks of 2020 could get their money’s worth.
