Lego launches brand new ‘posters’ you can build, including Darth Vader, Iron Man, Marilyn Monroe and more
Lego offers much more than just impressive models of the Batmobile and the Millennium falcon.
On Wednesday, Lego announced a new line of art sets designed to attract adult fans. Instead of creating objects, you can use these new sets to create actual objects Portraits of pop culture icons like wonder Superhero Iron Man and Star Wars Sith villains Darth Vader, Darth Maul and Kylo Ren.
The new kits also include the painting by artist Andy Warhol with actress Marilyn Monroe and portraits of the legendary British pop band The Beatles.
Each Lego Art set contains over 3,000 small, round pieces in various colors that can be glued to a canvas to create an artistic portrait. The square canvas measures approximately 40 cm.
The Lego Art sets only have one canvas for a portrait. So if you want to create separate portraits of each of the Beatles band members or all Star Wars villains, you’ll need to buy multiple sets. The Lego Art Sets can also be combined into a larger work of art with multiple canvases.
The Lego sets are all supplied with CD soundtracks that can be played when playing the sets with background stories, rare recordings and interviews on the art themes.
The Lego Art sets cost $ 120 (around £ 96, AU $ 172). The sets will be available in international stores on August 1 and in the United States on September 1.
