Leaked Huawei P50 Pro renders show crazy camera

Huawei P50 Pro has leaked renderers 3

  • The first set of high quality renders from the Huawei P50 Pro leaked today via the frequent source @OnLeaks.
  • The renderings show a very unique egg-shaped camera hump with two huge discs.
  • The P50 Pro also appears to have an IR blaster.

While Huawei is still in tough times thanks to the Huawei ban, that doesn’t mean the company is out of the game. We continue to assume that the manufacturer will launch the P50 series sometime in 2021. Today we took a good first look at one of the premium models in this range.

Below are leaked CAD-based renders of the Huawei P50 Pro. These pictures are from Steve Hemmerstoffer, aka @OnLeaks. It’s a very reliable source for such renders, so it is likely that they accurately represent what this phone might look like.

The most interesting thing about the renders is the rear view camera. It’s … um … pretty unique. Check out the pictures below to see for yourself.

One of the most famous rumors we’ve heard is that the P50 Pro might have a 1-inch camera sensor. If that’s true, it would be the largest sensor ever installed on an Android phone. It’s possible that weird, egg-shaped camera bump had something to do with this sensor.

Hemmerstoffer assumes that several lenses could be housed in each black disk that occupies the egg-shaped bump. It is absolutely possible. Unfortunately, such renderings can’t give us a lot of information about the inside of the device, just the outside.

However, we can see that the Huawei P50 Pro appears to have an IR blaster just like the P40 series above. This is interesting because most of the flagship phones gave up the IR blaster feature years ago, but Huawei refuses to let go of it. Unfortunately, Huawei doesn’t seem to be bringing back the 3.5mm port, another feature that has faded over time.

Of course, it will ensure that this phone will start up without access to Google Apps, including the Google Play Store. There are rumors that it could launch with Harmony OS, Huawei’s Android alternative (that mostly seems to be Android 10 only).
