  • According to reports, Xiaomi is working on three new high-end tablets.
  • These tablets offer 120 Hz refresh rates and flagship silicon.

Xiaomi released its last tablets back in 2018 when it launched the Mi Pad 4 range. This series offered mid-range Snapdragon 660 silicon and was reasonably priced. Now it looks like the wait could be over soon as Xiaomi is apparently working on a new range of tablets.

The Xiaomiui Telegram group reports that Xiaomi has at least three tablet models in the works. These have the model numbers K81, K81A and K82 and the apparent code names Enuma, Elish and Nabu. It’s unclear if this is the Mi Pad 5 series, although it stands to reason that it would.

All three are said to offer quad rear camera setups (main / ultra wide / macro / depth camera), wireless charging, quad speakers, NFC and 120 Hz IPS LCD screens. Oddly enough, the leak indicates a resolution of 2560 x 800, which is likely a typo (presumably 2560 x 1800).

The K81 and K81A appear to be the most impressive devices, and they reportedly feature a Snapdragon 870 chipset. This would be a significant upgrade for the series as it offers flagship performance unlike mid-range silicon. Otherwise, the K81 should also offer a 48MP camera, while the K81A offers a 12MP sensor.

The K82 model apparently differs from the other two devices in that it provides a Snapdragon 860 chipset, which would still be a good upgrade over the Mi Pad 4 series. It is also a tip to offer a 12MP sensor.

The Xiaomiui group has a solid, but not perfect, track record of leaks. Even so, the claims of flagship power coincide with a previous claim from common Weibo tipsters Digital Chat Station. The tidbit claimed that Xiaomi’s upcoming tablet would feature Snapdragon 800 series silicon and a high refresh rate. Digital Chat Station also earlier stated that the Mi Pad 5 would offer an 11-inch screen size, although it is unclear whether all of the above models would receive this screen size.
