Latest Google Pixel 6 leak detail hardware, software, and accessories
TL; DR
- More Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro renders have been leaked.
- The latest images shed more light on the software features, hardware and accessories of the phones.
- This includes face recognition, camera specs, and a new Pixel Stand.
New official looking renders of the Google Pixel 6 series have been outed by a trusted tipster Evan Blass. Blass posted several images on Twitter on Thursday that shed more light on the likely specs, accessories, and software features of the upcoming phones.
Let’s start with the software. We’re taking a good look at the Pixel 6 series home screen, which shows the new makeover to the At A Glance widget called Live Space. This widget shows the user the most relevant and up-to-date information. In one case, details about an upcoming meeting and current weather conditions are shown. In another it contains information about an upcoming flight with gate number, seat details and a QR code boarding pass.
We also get a look at the Pixel Security app, which acts as a hub for common device security settings. Here you’ll find controls for app security, Find My Device, and more.
Several specifications are apparently also confirmed by the leak. For one, the security app also confirms that face recognition will be an unlock option. Judging from the shots of the phone covered in water droplets, we can expect the devices to have an IP rating as well. Interestingly, one picture apparently confirms the Pixel 6 Pro’s long-rumored 50MP + 48MP + 12MP triple-camera array. Finally, in another shot, the phone rests on a seemingly redesigned Pixel Stand.
While these images are press renders, we’ll have to wait for the final word from Google on these features. Fortunately, we don’t have to wait too long. The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will debut on October 19th.
