  • New details of the major redesign of Android 12 have been leaked.
  • The redesign will reportedly include new widgets, a new keyboard, and nifty improvements to the notification center.
  • The leak occurs just days before Google I / O.

New details of the major redesign of Android 12 became known just a few days before Google I / O via tipster Jon Prosser. In a recently released YouTube video, Prosser shows a short marketing role for Android 12, detailing changes to the operating system’s key functions.

Judging by the role, Android 12 will use the left-facing clock as a notification base and alarm center. Although the time is still displayed here, the number of pending notifications is shown in a circle next to it. Pulling down the watch opens the notification shadow as usual.

The change to this key display area can be seen most clearly on the lock screen. With the large clock now taking up most of the display on the lock screen, there is no longer a smaller clock displayed in the top left of the Android 12 screen, but instead notification icons.

Google is also apparently bringing a redesigned keyboard to the table with rounded keys.

Additional details highlight changes to the widgets, including a new widget for music playback, sliders for clock and alarm, and a weather widget.

Overall, the leaked images are pretty similar to the designs of previous Android 12 builds. Google seems to be committed to pastel colors, contrasts, and fluid user interface elements in its next operating system design.

Of course, with Google I / O happening on Tuesday, we’ll be taking a closer look at the new and retained design elements of Android 12 very soon.
