The big story: Richter says Apple cannot block Unreal Engine
The judge of the US District Court, Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, burdened the litigation between Epic Games and Apple with a mixed judgment. She turned down Epic’s request to restore the popular Fortnite game to Apple’s App Store, but also ordered Apple not to block Epic’s developer accounts or deny developers on Apple platforms access to Epic’s Unreal Engine tools.
“Apple chose to act strictly, influencing non-parties and a third-party developer ecosystem,” said Rogers.
A full hearing on the dispute is scheduled for September 28.
